Summary
| Description |
English: Multnomah County district attorney William Langley (left) and Howard Lonergan read the Oregonian newspaper, a day after the Oregonian began publishing an investigative series that would ultimately win a Pulitzer prize and result in Langley's conviction and removal from office. Lonergan was a Deputy District Attorney serving under Langley at the time. He continued in that role after Langley was ousted from office, and then went into private practice, successfully representing other defendants in the vice cases. Lonergan was cleared of wrongdoing in an Oregon State Bar investigation. See:
