Deutsch: Das Eitelberger-Denkmal in der Säulenhalle des Museums für angewandte Kunst (MAK) am Stubenring im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Innere Stadt. Das Bronzedenkmal wurde von dem Bildhauer Hermann Klotz (1850–1932) zu Ehren des Kunsthistorikers und Initiators des Österreichischen Museums für Kunst und Industrie (des heutigen MAK) sowie dessen erster Direktor Rudolf Eitelberger, Edler von Edelberg, geschaffen und am 4. November 1887 enthüllt. Ursprünglich wurde das Österreichische Museum für Kunst und Industrie am 12. Mai 1864 in den Räumen des früheren Ballhauses neben der Wiener Hofburg eröffnet. Am 4. November 1871 übersiedelte das Museum in das ab 1868 von Heinrich Ferstel im Stil der florentinischen Renaissance in Rohziegelbauweise errichtete Gebäude am Stubenring. 1938 wurde das „Österreichische Museum für Kunst und Industrie“ in „Staatliches Kunstgewerbemuseum in Wien“ umbenannt und 1947 erhielt es die Bezeichnung „Österreichisches Museum für angewandte Kunst“ (MAK): [1]. |
