English: In 1521 Albrecht Dürer drew a group of Irish and Scottish Warriors (three Galloglass and two Kerns. This is a part a drawing of these five soldiers of the 16th century, that shows how they dressed and carried themselves. At left is a Scottish gallòglach (Gallowglass), who is carrying his claidheamh mhòr (great sword), followed by two bare foot kern (gealic warriors) carrying pole axes and a cow horn trumpet.
