English: The sanctuary (date?) is located on the East Slope of the Acropolis. Aglaurus was the daughter of the mythical king of Athens, Cecrops, and sacrificed herself by falling from the walls of the Acropolis in order to fulfill an oracle which demanded a human sacrifice for the city to be saved.
