Summary

Description
  • English:Standing Tārā statue, Sri Lanka, 7th - 8th century (in the collection of the British Museum). This sculpture is cast in bronze and gilded. The eyes and the elaborately arranged hair were doubtless inlaid with precious stones. The sculpture, according the early 19th century accounts, was found in the eastern province of Sri Lanka between Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
Oči a komplikovaně naaranžované vlasy byly zcela jistě vykládány drahokamy.
