Numerical values are from the table at https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/air-specific-heat-capacity-d_705.html. The sharp rise at lower temperatures is where nitrogen and oxygen liquify. At temperatures T = 140, 200, 220, 320, 360, 380 K, c_v = 718.4, 716.3, 716.3, 719.2, 720.6, 722.3, 724.3 J/(K kg). Because (5/2) R_d = 717.5 J/(K kg), c_v lies within 1% of (5/2) R_d for 140 K < T < 380 K. |
