Summary
DescriptionSpanish-American War Cannon; Univ of Tampa-1.JPG
English: The former Fort Dade Spanish-American War era cannon on the grounds of the Henry B. Plant Museum/Tampa Bay Hotel on the grounds of the University of Tampa. Further details to come later. Note: The gun is an 8-inch M1888 coast defense gun, the same model as the original one from Fort Dade, but is on a railway mounting dismounted from the railcar, and was previously at Fort Morgan, Alabama. The gun mentioned on the monument was on a disappearing carriage and was donated to a World War II scrap drive.
