Sign, "Welcome Home From the Crow-Eaters," on the front of the Washington Post Building in Washington, DC. President Harry S. Truman and Vice President Alben W. Barkley had just returned to Washington after their victory in the 1948 election--a victory not predicted by the Washington Post.
Description
General notes: E Street NW between 13th and 14th streets, although the traffic is on the Pennsylvania Avenue segment now realigned for "Freedom Plaza." The building at right still houses the National Theatre, but the others have been replaced by the JWMarriott Hotel.
