The Massachusetts Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and the 104th Fighter Wing participate in an alert scramble exercise in the skies surrounding Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Massachusetts, on March 3, 2011. The 104th Fighter Wing provides air sovereignty alert protection to the Northeast with its F-15 aircraft. The joint exercise used the CAP as the "enemy" aircraft simulating a flight into a restricted area and interception by two F-15s scrambled from the 104th Fighter Wing. (U.S.A.F.
