Postcard picture of "Rockledge" mansion on the estate of James Farrell, once president of U.S. Steel. Although the postcard was mailed in 1919, the view is of the building which burnt down in 1913 and was replaced by the (still standing) granite mansion. The location is the Rowayton section of Norwalk, Connecticut, not "South Norwalk" as is inaccurately stated on the front of the card. The rise in the ground level indicates the picture was taken from the southeast, looking northwest.
