DescriptionPhoenix-Cemetery-Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery-Thoma Carl Reed.jpg
English: The grave of Thomas Carl Reed (1932-1951). Reed was an African-American who was killed during the Korean War, and who was denied a proper burial in the Greenwood Cemetery of Phoenix because of his color. This incident led to the protest of Civil Right groups which ended in a change of policy of the cemetery in question. He is buried in the Greenwood/Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery.
