Title
English: Mother Jones Funeral
Description
English: Labor leaders attend Mother Jones funeral. Men high in the ranks of labor circles took part in the last rites for "Mother" Jones, 100 year-old labor crusader. Standing in the middle of the group of three at the right is William N. Doak, newly appointed Secretary of Labor. The casket is being borne from St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Washington, where services were held, after which the body was sent to Mount Olivet, Ill., to be buried beside five of her "boys" slain there years ago in one of the many labor wars in which she participated. This was one of the last requests of the militant laborite, whose full name was Mrs. Mary Harris Jones but who was known simply as "Mother" by her thousands of "boys" throughout the country. 12/3/30
