Description
English: Archangel Michael in the church of the divine Saviour, Sopo. One of the Sopo Archangels. The helmet and spear are attributes of the warrior Archangel. The spear wielder is both standard and symbol of redemption, since its upper end has a cross.
Español: Es el ángel más discreto en cuanto a vestuario. Es el único que no tiene inscripción por ser obvia su iconografía. Las telas que flotan muy "surbaranescas" constituyen lo mejor logrado por el maestro de Sopó. Es el triunfo de Dios contra el demonio y de la religión contra satanás. El casco y la lanza son atributos de este Arcangel guerrero. La lanza que empuña es al mismo tiempo estandarte y símbolo de redención, puesto que su extremo superior tiene una cruz.
