Summary
DescriptionMiddletown Preparative Meeting in Lima, PA.jpg
English: Middletown Preparative Meeting was the first Quaker meeting in Middletown. It is called a preparative meeting because it is under the care of Providence Quaker Meeting in Media, PA. This is the actual meetinghouse that this Wikipedia article describes. The photograph that is highlighted in this article is of the Meetinghouse slightly to the south across from the Cumberland Cemetery. That is an active Quaker community meetinghouse which was built in 1835 composed of orthodox Quakers who'd been forced to leave the "Hicksite" preparative meeting after a doctrinal split that occurred amongst regional Quakers in 1829.
