Summary
| Description |
English: Lybster railway station The old Lybster railway station and terminus of the Wick and Lybster light railway line. The line ran services from 1903 to 1944 when war time belt-tightening halted services and effectively ended the line. It was a standard gauge line at four foot eight and a half but was light in the respect that it could only carry light rolling stock,not being built to the higher standard used on main lines. From what I can see the lum has gone and somebody has added walls to the small projecting canopy/awning. Obviously the track's gone and the yard has been back filled to the level of the platform. The station master's house looks just the same as when it was built. |
