Summary
DescriptionLooking Homeward (3003323872).jpg
The Chandrayaan-1 orbiter has now entered its lunar transfer altitude, and will slip into orbit around the moon in a few days. During its slow upward spiral, the spacecraft looked back to capture this lovely view of the Australian west coast and the Indian Ocean. Every time a space probe photographs the Earth, I’m awestruck by the contrast between it and the other worlds we usually look at. Our home, so rare, so beautiful.
