English: ‘In The Omnibus’ by French artist Honoré Daumier, recovered in 2022, after being stolen from Dublin’s Hugh Lane Gallery in June 1982 during a children’s art class.
The watercolour and gouache drawing, circa 1860, portrays three women, two men and a child travelling through Paris in an omnibus, a horse-drawn public transport vehicle.
