Summary
DescriptionHow our forefathers travelled in the forties.jpg
English: A Great Western Railway postcard showing 'how our forefathers travelled in the (18)40s'. It depicts a six-wheeled open third class carriage that was built in 1851 for the Vale of Neath railway. At that time it had no roof but one was added later. From 1870 it was used for milk traffic when the flow of air helped keep the milk cool.
