Description
English: Ethan Allen Engine Company No. 4, Church Street (next to City Hall), Burlington, Vermont. Rescued from demolition in 1969, this classic Romanesque 1887 firehouse is now the Firehouse Center for Visual Arts, part of the non-profit Burlington City Arts. FCVA includes a community darkroom and photography studio; artist-in-residence studio; multimedia conference facility for lectures, film series, and panel discussions; and Resource Room and Library with public meeting space and Internet access. It is listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places, and also as a contributing building in the City Hall Park Historic District.
