Summary
DescriptionDetail of the Intricate Brickwork on the Mas'ud III Tower.jpg
English: This photo illustrates the detail of the intricate brickwork on the Mas'ud III tower, part of the "Victory Towers" of Ghazni, Afghanistan, which are among the last vestiges of the great Silk Road empire of the Ghaznavids. Through a unique collaboration with the U.S. National Park Service, the U.S. National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites, and the Ministry of Information and Culture in Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of State led a capacity-building project to document the Ghazni Towers in Afghanistan.
