Description

A soldier from the 4th Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo., seals glossy white shrink wrap material with a 1,700-degree heat blower gun. This process of protecting equipment from environmental damage takes up to three hours to seal up a helicopter. The plastic shrink wrap film, used since the 1980's to protect equipment, is expected to save the Army millions of dollars in equipment losses due to corrosion.
