English: ISLAMIC, Persia (Post-Mongol). Safavids. Tahmasp I. AH 930-984 / AD 1524-1576. AV Sixth(?) Mithqal (12mm, 0.79 g, 3h). First gold standard. Shiraz mint. Dated AH 930 (AD 1523/4). Cf. Album 2592 note. Deposits, areas of weak strike at periphery. Good VF.
