Summary
DescriptionChawk Pura During Bandna Festival in a Courtyard.jpg
English: During Bandna Festival, Chawk is an important ritual. The Chawk is designed and prepared by the lady who happens to be in fasting and begins from the entrance. The design may vary from one clan to another. The shapes are generally crisscrossed squares connected with another and a triangle attached to the side arms of the square. The apex of the triangle again joined with the curved lines. All these squares, triangles and curved lines are drawn with the four fingers of the right hand. Vermillion dots put on each joint which gives an attractive look. But mythologically it symbolizes breeding.
