Nederlands: Reproductie. Olieverfschilderij van de plattegrond van Batavia uit circa 1627 in het Westfries Museum, 1919-1921.
Dit is een oude afbeelding van de stad Batavia, zoals de situatie was in 1627. Geheel links is het vierkante kasteel van Batavia zichtbaar. Het was in die tijd het meest noordelijke bouwwerk van de stad. Binnen in het kasteel bevond zich overheidsgebouwen en de woning van de gouverneur. De oude loop van de rivier de Ciliwung is hier nog goed zichtbaar; de rivier kronkelt zich aan de westkant van de stad langs de nieuwe Hollandse bebouwing. Later is de rivier hier rechtgetrokken om als verdedigingsgracht dienst te doen. De vier beroemde hoekbastions met de namen van edelstenen, waren in deze tijd ook nog niet gebouwd. Binnen in de stad en vlak buiten de stad zijn de tuinen en aanplant te zien voor de verbouw van rijst en groenten.. Reproductie van een plattegrond van Batavia uit circa 1627
