Summary
DescriptionCFCs & Ozone.jpg
English: CFCs are released into the atmosphere via aerosols and refrigerants. Sunlight breaks the CFC molecules up so that there are lone chlorine atoms in the atmosphere. The Cl atoms bond to lone oxygen atoms that come from the breakdown of ozone molecules, which leaves less oxygen atoms available to bond with O2 to create ozone molecules. As a result, a hole in the ozone layer begins to form.
