La vieille église navait, au surplus, aucun mérite artistique ou archéologique.Cétait une modeste chapelle, de fort antique origine, transformée et dénaturée parde nombreuses et maladroites additions. On y voyait une belle toile de De Crayer,représentant Sainte Catherine reçue au ciel et le tombeau du janséniste Arnaud, quiy avait été inhumé le g août 1694. Elle subsiste encore en partie, attendant dannée en année une démolition
