Description
English: This true-color image of the Earth was captured on December 7, 2022, by the Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) instrument flying aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory. This image was taken on the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Blue Marble. When the 1972 Blue Marble was taken the world population was 3.83 Billion while in this newer image the world population just reached 8 Billion 3 weeks prior.
