Summary
DescriptionBattle of St Michaels troop positions 11 barges.png
English: This map shows the troop positions of the Maryland militia and British in the Battle of St. Michaels that occurred on August 10, 1813, in Maryland. The basic map is traced from a US Geological Survey map as of 2021, so the small cove near the church is probably smaller than it was in 1813. Troop positions are based on pages 164 and 168 from "History of Talbot County, Maryland, 1661-1861", Vol. II, by Oswald Tilghman and Samuel A. Harrison. Additional information was found in NRHP forms maintained by the Maryland Historical Trust, MHT Codes T-554 and T-61. Although BG Benson's report said the British used 11 barges, Tilghman says other sources say 9 to 18 barges.
