English: The Arba'een Pilgrimage is the world's largest public gathering that is held every year in Iraq. This Ziyarah (pilgrimage) is held at the end of the 40-day mourning period following Ashura, the religious ritual for the commemoration of the Prophet Mohammad's grandson Husayn ibn Ali's martyrdom in 680.
اردو: مفصل مضمون: اربعین چونکہ ائمہ(ع) نے زیارت اربعین کی بہت تاکید فرمائی ہے لہذا شیعیان عالم بالخصوص شیعیان عراق ہر سال یوم اربعین حسینی ملک کے تمام علاقوں سے کربلائے معلی کا رخ کرتے ہیں۔ اکثر زائرین پائے پیادہ سفر کرتے ہیں اور اربعین کے یہ جلوس شیعیان عالم کے عظیم ترین اجتماعات میں شمار ہوتے ہیں۔ سنہ 2013 ء میں پہلے ہی پیشین گوئی ہوئی تھی کہ تقریبا دو کروڑ زائرین کربلا پہنچیں گے[6] بعض رپورٹوں میں کہا گیا کہ سنہ 1435 ھ (بمطابق 2013 ء) میں ڈیڑھ کروڑ زائرین کربلا میں جمع ہوئے تھے۔

L’Arbaïn, qui marque la fin des quarante jours de deuil après l’anniversaire de la mort de l’imam Al-Hussein ibn Ali, est l’un des plus grands rassemblements religieux au monde, avec environ 17 millions de fidèles . l’imam Al-Hussein ibn Ali fut tué en 680 lors de la bataille de Kerbala contre l’armée du calife omeyyade Yazid Ier. Bien que ce soit un exercice spirituel typiquement chiite, des sunnites, et même des chrétiens, des Yézidis, des Zoroastriens et des Sabéens prennent part à la fois au pèlerinage et au service des dévots.
فارسی: پیادهروی اربعین با مراسم حج مسلمان مقایسه میشود اما این رویداد سالانه حدود دو میلیون تن را کنار هم جمع میکند، همچنین کومبه میلا رویداد دیگر قابل مقایسه با اربعین است که با آنکه احتمالاً جمعیت بیشتری در آن حضور مییابند اما هر ۱۲ سال یک بار برگزار میگردد.
