Construction

The contractor is: Graham Construction

The architect is: Glancy Nicholls, who provided a service where staff could see the future school building in Virtual Reality.[1]

The structural services were provided by MNP[2] including the sub and superstructure, drainage including SuDS, cut and fill / earthworks modelling and hard landscaping.

The total value is: £40 Million

The bricks used for the building are product 029J100 from EH Smith.[3]

The lighting for the MUGAs were provided by Armadillo LED.[4]

When, at full capacity, the school has the space to house 1800 students.

The school has three stories, with a separate sports hall.

The school provides space for a car park, cycle store, tennis, cricket, and football pitches.

The main building’s construction is piled raft foundation for the substructure and a steel frame for the superstructure. The large triple-height atrium spaces for the dining hall and the drama studios are formed using 17m long steel trusses.

Some sports facilities are expected to open at a later date, which is why the decision was made for temporary facilities to be used by Watling students at Denbigh School.
