Shaun Mannagh (born 6 August 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Geelong Cats in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Early career

At the end of 2015, Mannagh left the youth league team Murray Bushrangers to join amateur-level club North Albury in the Ovens & Murray Football Netball League. He was also recruited to Richmond's VFL reserves team, but did not receive a chance to join the senior list due to Richmond's success under Damien Hardwick in the late 2010s. While remaining on Richmond's VFL list, Mannagh returned to the Ovens & Murray League, this time playing for Lavington.[1] Mannagh then played for Werribee in the VFL,[2] where he kicked six goals from 28 disposals in a losing Grand Final against the Gold Coast Suns in 2023, being rewarded with the Norm Goss Memorial Medal. After a few years of attracting the attention of AFL clubs, his Grand Final performance was enough to enter the national draft as a mature-aged rookie.[3]

AFL career

Mannagh was drafted in the 2023 AFL draft at pick 36 as a mature-aged recruit.[4] He made his senior debut at 26 years of age against St Kilda at GMHBA Stadium in round 1 of 2024.[5] He kicked his first career goal against Adelaide the next week at Adelaide Oval, before he was omitted from the team for Geelong's Easter Monday clash with rivals Hawthorn.[6]
