The Indianapolis Herald, previously known as the Indiana Herald (1957–),[1] Hoosier Herald (1949–1957), Indianapolis Herald-Tribune (1957–1960),[2] Indiana Herald-Times,[3] and Indianapolis Herald-Times,[4] was a newspaper serving the African American community of Indianapolis and surrounding areas.


Opal L. Tandy worked for the Hoosier Herald and acquired it in 1960. He changed the name to the Indianapolis Herald.[5][6]
