Introdution
Hong Kong Golden Beach is situated in the northeastern part of New Territories, spans approximately 500 meters along Castle Peak Road. The beach officially opened in 1996, and its name is derived from the golden sand that graces its shoreline.
The beach features fine, clean sand, making it a favorite spot for sunbathing and leisurely walks. The surrounding area is adorned with scenic landscapes and hills, providing a peaceful escape from the urban hustle. Tolo Harbour’s expansive views add to the beauty of the location.
Facilities at Golden Beach include barbecue pits, picnic areas, and a promenade for visitors to enjoy. Water sports enthusiasts can indulge in activities like windsurfing and kayaking, adding an adventurous touch to the serene environment.
With its family-friendly atmosphere and proximity to residential areas, Hong Kong Golden Beach is not just a scenic destination but also a community hub, drawing both locals and tourists seeking a relaxing day by the sea.

The beach water quality of Golden beach is monitored by the Environmental Protection Interactive Center since 1995, and it was graded "fair" since 1998, in 2018 and 2022,. it was graded "good" in the water quality. In 2023, the grading maintained in a "fair" and "good" grading. The grading of water quality in Hong Kong Golden Beach is relative lower from July to Sept. In summer time, the general grading is "fair".[1] In Aug 2017, golden beach was reported of 100-200m long of beach trashes after the heavy rainfall, the trashes were accumulated due to the change of wind direction. This incident affect the perception of the citizen of visiting Hong Kong Golden Beach.[2]
