Draft:Gyða Sveinsdóttir

Gyða Sveinsdóttir was a tenth-century Danish princess and daughter of King Sveinn Forkbeard. She is mentioned in Heimskringla as the wife of jarl Eiríkr Hákonsson.[1] Peter Sawyer considered that she "must have been the result of an earlier, unrecorded liaison," rather than a legitimate child, and estimates the date of her marriage at 997.[2] She is assumed to be the mother of Eiríkr's son Hákon Eiríksson.[3]
