Draft:DeBruyn Cars

deBruyn Cars is a Dutch sports car manufacturer founded in 2021 by Maarten de Bruijn, co-founder of Spyker Cars. The company pretends to produce high-end, handcrafted luxury sports cars, with its debut model being the deBruyn V8 Ferox.[1][2][3]

History

Maarten de Bruijn has already a past in automotive works, being the co-founder of Spyker Cars and the designer of the brand's original prototype, the Spyker Silvestris, built in 1999. The Spyker Silvestris was the base for the well successful Spyker C8, being the foundation for the brand's success. Bruijn left Spyker in 2005 in order to create other projects, such as powerboats and electric tricycles, and other varied vehicle projects.[2][3]

Bruijn, however, decided to come back into the automotive world with his own brand, and together with Wouter van Everdingen and Niek van Exel, they created deBruyn Cars, unveiling the deBruyn V8 Ferox in May of 2023.[2][3]

The deBruyn Ferox V8 is deBruyn's first automobile. It is powered by a GM-adapted 6¼ litre V8 engine, producing 500 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, while weighing 1050 kg.[4][1]

The chassis of the Ferox V8 is made from bonded aluminium, with its suspension being made of the same material. Its hand-beaten body is also made from aluminium.[4][1]

The design is heavily inspired by Bruijn's earlier works, such as the Spyker Silvestris.[4][1]
