Draft:Bedrock (investment firm)

  • Comment: There seems to be a misunderstanding about the requirements despite the notes left by previous reviewers. We will not keep reviewing drafts just because they are submitted. You need to review the notes and make corrections. You were told that references need to meet WP:ORGCRIT but instead of pointing out or adding those, you removed references. I am unsure how to assist at this point. CNMall41 (talk) 03:15, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Previous note requested that you read through links provided in the declined reasoning. However, the resubmission would show maybe those links were not clear or maybe there is a misunderstanding of the requirement. To make it more simple, references must meet WP:ORGCRIT to show notability. I cannot find any references in this draft that talk in-depth about the firm. There are some about the founder, some about investments, but nothing that goes into depth. In addition, I want to WP:AGF but have a hard time believing there is no WP:COI here. I would request that you read WP:COI and WP:PAID and make the appropriate disclosure if applicable. CNMall41 (talk) 21:27, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Please read through the linked information above. Sources are what those affiliated say so primary , trivial coverage such as funding announcements or brief mentions. S0091 (talk) 21:17, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Bedrock is an American technology investment firm founded in 2018 by Geoff Lewis.[1][2] As of 2023 Bedrock had approximately US$2 billion in assets under management and investments including Flock Safety,OpenAI,Rippling and Vercel.

History

Bedrock was founded by Geoff Lewis[3] in 2018 with the stated aim to invest in exceptional entrepreneurs found through the search for "narrative violations," a term it coined.[4] Lewis, a former entrepreneur,[5] [6][7]was an early investor and board member at Lyft,[8] Wish,[9] and Nubank prior to founding Bedrock.[10]

Lewis is frequently featured as an expert on technology[11] and investing,[12] and appears regularly on CNBC Squawk Box[13][14][15]. He has also appeared on Yahoo Finance[16] and in 2014, Lewis published an Op-Ed on Silicon Valley's romanticization of failure in The Washington Post[17]. Bedrock moved its headquarters to Austin, Texas during the pandemic and was named one of the "45 most important VCs" in Austin by Business Insider.[18]

Bedrock raised its first fund in 2018, with US$127 million in committed capital.[19]

In 2019, Bedrock raised its second fund, with US$350 million in committed capital.[20]

In 2021, Bedrock raised its third fund, with US$350 million in committed capital.[21]

In 2023, Bedrock raised US$400 million in committed capital for its fourth fund, bringing Bedrock's total assets under management to approximately US$2 billion.[22]
