If a stub article can be placed into one of the subcategories or related categories of this category, that should be done instead, using one of the following templates:

• {{NorthernIreland-geo-stub}} for Northern Ireland
• {{Scotland-geo-stub}} for Scotland
• {{Wales-geo-stub}} for Wales

All counties in these countries have separate geo-stub templates: for more details, see Category:England geography stubs, Category:Northern Ireland geography stubs, Category:Scotland geography stubs, and Category:Wales geography stubs.

• Crown dependencies: The crown dependencies of the Isle of Man and the Bailiwicks of Guernsey and Jersey each have their own templates:
  • {{IsleofMan-geo-stub}} places articles in Category:Isle of Man geography stubs
  • {{Guernsey-geo-stub}} and {{Jersey-geo-stub}} place articles in Category:Channel Islands geography stubs
• Overseas territories: All British overseas territories have their own geo-stub templates of the form {{TerritoryName-geo-stub}} (e.g., {{SaintHelena-geo-stub}}). The only slight variations from this naming style are:
  • {{Falklands-geo-stub}} for the Falkland Islands
  • {{Pitcairn-geo-stub}} for the Pitcairn Islands
  • {{SouthGeorgia-geo-stub}} for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
• For buildings and structures in the United Kingdom, use {{UK-struct-stub}}
• For roads in the United Kingdom, use {{UK-road-stub}}
