Şehitlik is a village in the Pazar District, Rize Province, in Black Sea Region of Turkey.^[1] Its population is 375 (2021).^[2]

History

According to list of villages in Laz language book (2009), name of the village is Mxak'u, which means "a water bug". Most villagers are ethnically Laz.^[3]

Geography

The village is located 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) away from Pazar.
